Dragging tiny on-screen knobs with a mouse
Wall Stops at −∞ and +6 dB, bump at 0 dB Map a macro or a plugin knob and the dial becomes it: 270° of real travel, hard stops where the knob ends and a bump at unity. The mouse stays on the mouse pad.
-
Controllers that feel the same for every parameter
Clock One channel per click Every parameter gets its own feel. Wall for gain, Clock with a heavy detent at noon for picking tracks and scenes, Spring for pitch bend. The dial changes over in about a millisecond.
-
MIDI mapping that never quite sticks
Spring Springs back to center, hard stops at ±120° Detent is a class-compliant USB-C MIDI device, no driver. Each mapping is saved with its feel in a plain JSON profile that follows your plugin window: MIDI-learn a Bitwig modulator tonight and it still springs back to center tomorrow.
In the DAW you already have.
Detent Studio notices which app is in front and loads its profile before your hand gets there. Every other app still gets system controls out of the box: scroll, zoom, undo, volume, brightness and media.

Questions producers ask.
Every answer, in one placeDoes it work without a DAW plugin?
Yes. Over USB-C it is a class-compliant MIDI device, so anything that can MIDI-learn can use it. The native integrations add per-plugin profiles and the labels on the knob’s display.
Where exactly is the unity bump?
Wherever your DAW puts 0 dB on the fader. The bump is a firmware detent, not a notch in the metal, so it moves to match the fader law of the app you are in.
What is software-defined haptics?
Instead of a mechanical click, a small brushless motor pushes back on your fingers. Firmware decides where the clicks are, how strong they feel, whether it springs back or stops dead, and it can change that per app in about a millisecond.
How does the $20 reservation work?
A $20 deposit holds your place and locks the $299 launch price on Detent One. The Founders Edition is always $449; its $50 deposit holds one numbered serial. When your batch is ready we email a ship date and a link to pay the rest; the deposit comes off the price. Cancel any time before it ships for a full refund, one click, no questions.
What if I do not love it?
Use it for 60 days. If it has not earned its spot on your desk, send it back with the prepaid label for a full refund.
