Instead of a mechanical click, a small brushless motor pushes back on your fingers. Firmware decides where the clicks are, how strong they feel, whether it springs back or stops dead, and it can change that per app in about a millisecond.
The clicks you feel are silent; the motor is quieter than a keyboard. There is an optional tick sound in the app if you like hearing them.

Over USB it is a standard HID and MIDI device, so any hub or dock that passes a keyboard through will pass Detent through. Some KVM switches emulate keyboards instead of passing them through; on those, use Bluetooth.
A dry microfiber cloth for the body, a slightly damp one for the glass. If the foot stops gripping, rinse it under warm water and let it air-dry.
